South Korea Minister of Education, Science and Technology and MOHE

Seoul - Minister of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of South Korea  Lee Joo Ho and  Saudi Deputy Minister of Higher Education jointly inaugurated on  Wednesday  the pavilion  of Saudi Arabia in the Seoul International Book Fair, where the Kingdom is participating  as a guest of honor.


 

This year's opening was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information for International Cultural Relations Abdulrahman Al-Hazza, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for cultural, and economic affairs, Dr. Yusuf al-Sadoun. President of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Salem Al-Malik and the Saudi Cultural Attaché of Saudi Embassy in South Korea, Dr. Turki Al Ayyar, were also presents.

 

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Dr. Ahmed Seif accompanied his Korean Minister and his entourage to the 420 sq. meters Saudi pavilion, where they were served Arabic coffee and dates. Subsequently, they toured various stalls inside the pavilion, which had on display some 62 publications, of which 20 have been translated into Korean language,

The guests also had a close look at the  mock-up of Two Holy Mosques of Makkah and Madinah and the Holy Qur’an section in addition to  the Children's Library. They also visited the  Arabic calligraphy stall and the fine arts section before rounding off  their tour. The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ahmed Seif, presented on behalf of MOHE to Minister Lee a specimen of  Saudi traditional  painting, besides a box of  high quality Saudi dates.

 

 Dr.  Seif also  interacted with the Saudi-Korean Youth Forum delegation   being held in Korea as part of of the international youth forums sponsored by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which marked the sixth in the series of such events held  in South Korea. The delegation, which includes a number of young Saudis and Koreans, visited Saudi Pavilion, where they were briefed on its contents.
